Rally To Restore Sanity Pics

We went to the Rally to Restore Sanity yesterday. We had a great time. The event was from noon until 3:00 and we left a bit before noon. We were stunned when we walked into the Metro station near our place. It is a very quiet station and usually pretty empty. We walked in and there were massive amounts of people. We are only the third stop from the beginning of the line and the train was absolutely packed when it arrived. We crammed ourselves onto the train and it was a very, very crowded ride down to the mall. Many people were left at each station because the train was so incredibly crowded.

When we arrived at the station we decided to walk from, we had to wait about 15 minutes just to get out of the station - it was that packed. When we walked out of the metro station to walk down to the mall, there were massive amounts of people all over the place - and we could hear the roar of the crowd all the way up at the metro station!

When we got down to the mall, it was shoulder-to-shoulder packed, packed, packed! We inched along until we found a spot where we could see where the stage was (but not what was happening on the stage) but at least we could hear. There was also a jumbo screen but I couldn't see it. There were a lot of people who climbed the trees to see the show. One guy started climbing up a tree near us and was struggling - the crowd started cheering him on yelling "Yes you can! Yes you can!" and when he finally got up into the tree, the whole crowd started cheering.

We had a good time. It was a fun experience and we saw a lot of really hilarious signs.
